Default Thank you

46 people read this thread only got one answer.

This will help as I now know what I can expect. I bought a new scope for one of my in lines. I sent two triggers back to Timney Triggers from my Knight MK85s. When I get set back up I will be shooting them to see which one shoots the best groups.

Hey what bullet powder combination are you using?

I have a CVA Acura (like this one- http://www.gandermountain.com/modper...=448271&r=view) with the included (Dicks Special) Konus scope. I use 100gr of 777 under a Hornady 250gr SST sabot. At 100yds (swabbing dry every other shot) I can make them touch or come very close. I havent tried other combos from this rifle (no need) and I also havent shot it on paper at other ranges. I did manage a Doe this year at about 50yds and I dropped down a dot in scope as suggested. Shot hit exactly where I expected and doe didnt take a step.
I hear that powerbelts are more accurate but offer poor performance on game.

Default finnaly got out

Got out back to the range yesterday. Worked it out with my new scope at 25 yards. I bought a Bushnell 1.5 x 4.5. Then backed it up to 50 yards. At 50 yards I shot a three shot group 1" high with all three touching. This was with two pellets and a 348 grain powerbelt. I will be ready for next year.

Default Went back out yesterday

Shot a couple at 50 yards. /A little high and 1 " to the left. Fired one at 100 yards. Wow 5" to the left and 3" high. Fired another and right next to it. Moved over 16 clicks and down 10. Great 1 1/2" group next to the x. Now I am ready.
This was the first time I fired this gun at 100 yards.

One-inch groups @ 100 yds. from the benchrest was my best with my Renegade, peep sights & T/C MaxiBall's.

It all depends on what gun. Most modern style I can get 1~1 1/2 at 100, But I have a few customs I can get 2" to at least 300, and some smokeless I can go prob to 600+ I rarely get to shoot over 300. Knight rifles guarantee 2" groups at 200. I have a .416 that is supposed to be accurate to over 1000, But Ive never tried it at more than 600. There are some Traditionals (gibbs, and the like) that have been getting accuracy to over 1000 with Blackpowder for Quite a while
