Got into the woods yesterday had doe activity at 645am had a 21yd broadside shot took it and had a clean miss:eek: pissed off deer didnt know what was going on 10 min later 2 more does pop out nice broadside shot again at 25 yds and miss again. Now just when i think this hunt is over i turn around and have a nice 150lb basket 6pter walk by at 15 yds im at full draw and have only a small lane to shoot through so i decide to pass him up due to the fact at this point I think my peep is off with 2 back to back misses.:thdown:So i text message my buddy look down buck coming!!!!Hes 50 yds away from me .Well the rest is history 28 yd braodside shot deer runs back towards me and drops right in front of my stand :DThose Montec braodheads are no joke.So we go home i retune my bow and now im ready again we go back out to one of our different spots and just before dark 5pm have 2 does come in 1 broadside 12yds whack thats it for her she stumbles walks 10 yds i knock another arrow just in case and she drops.. I turn around other one still standing there and whack dropped that one too. I made up for my two misses this morn!!!!!! we didnt notice any rut activities in zone 51 or 16 yesterday at all.Bucks tarsals werent even swollen.Until next time good luck to all:D

marty,
Are you sure that you can legally shoot a 2nd deer before tagging the 1st one in?
I'm not familiar with the exact law but I do know certain zones you can take two deer at a time, but I thought it was only during the permit m/l and s/g seasons and only in certain zones. From what I remember 51 is one of the zones, not sure about 16.
If anyone else has an answer, share it ...

i have never had a problem with taking more then one deer at a time.
i did get a strangle look one time. i shot a doe, then ten minutes later shot a nice buck. this is early season. when i went to the check in station i said, i'm here to check in a doe, paperwork done. i then say i'm here to check a buck, long pause. girl says, how do i know you shot the doe first? i say how do you know i didn't?:D
she says, agreed.
no problems.
i have done this with bow and gun.

Learn something new everyday. I thought until the permit firearms seasons you had to immediately check the deer in before taking another.
