Does anybody else use these broadheads? I hit my deer of a life time last night,[think I hit him in the shoulder mabye too far forward] no blood or hair. Roared like a lion on impact. I've never had this happen to me before, I've shot plenty of deer with this broadhead. Help please

I have killed 4 or 5 deer with those broadheads, all been double lung shots!
Great broadhead for the price! I switched up a couple years back to Rage!

I just shot a buck last monday with a splitfire and it did not run more the 50 yds. First time using them and they did not let me down.

I had the same thing happen on the same shot you had and saw the arrow in its upper back as it was running away and i am shooting the Splitfire Pros and never found a drop of blood, hair or my arrow. Me my brother and nephew went back the next day and we all walked up and down and all around for hours and didn't find anything. I have shot the plain splitfire and like everyone said i didn't have them go any further then 50yds and they dropped and always found blood. I guess i just hit a very bad spot and hope he still is living for someone to shot gun season.

I have been using them since they came out, started with the 2 blade model, which I actually liked the best. I am now using the 3 blade and still great succes with them. My first kill with the 2 blade was a quartering away, that cut through 7 ribs and the deer went only about 40 yds.
I also use the Thunderhead 100 for thick cover.

Been using them for years, although I buy my own rubberbands and wrap a figure eight for less resisstance and open qiucker. I also lubricate them with veg oil. Killed many deer great penitration and blood trails. LT

My splitfires don't have any rubberbands:confused: Never a problem with them...killed everything I've hit.

You did what I did on a big buck and well as another guy "Six point heaven" did. You hit the Ball socket of the shoulder. On both of our deer, we found very very very little blood and never found the deer.

We let one deer sit for 4 hours then tracked him almost 1000yrds and never found him.

I use them and they work great.

Still, trying to keep it simple and considering going back to fixed blade for next year. Bought Hellrazors from NAP. All one piece and not much room for failure. So far they fly about as good as the mechanicals as well. Pretty easy to sharpen too.

Been using them for years with great penetration and nice holes. Hit one a little high this year and it went right through the vertebrae in the spine. Picture attached.

I got my 230lb buck this year with a Spitfire as well. Quartering-to shot. Went in around the shoulder and back into the lungs.

I stopped using them 5 years ago for the same reason.I've killed deer since with a fixed in the shoulder. A mechanical broadhead takes alot of energy away from the impact when it deploys. I'm not starting a mechanical or fixed arguement but my advice is if you can get a good flying fixed go with it. No moving parts for error and better penetration, especially when you hit heavy bone.My experience with mechanicals is they fly awsome but limit your penetration and pass throughs on a shot. My advice is go with a good cut on contact fixed blade.
