For broadheads I like G5 montecs. Used Muzzys for years with decent sucess. Playing around with NAP Hellrazors now.
For pests, I like pelletgun!:D

I've been shooting Shockwaves for many years and have had great success. Even on less than ideal angles. I've had two buck only offer a quartering to shot. I ended up hitting the shoulder (not on purpose) and the arrows penetrated into the lungs on both occasions.

I tried some of the slick trick mags in 100 grain this year, and so far they do a nice job. True fliers and strong blade locking system.........this coming from a tried and true muzzy fan.........

G5 125 Strikers on Beman Max 4 fly true out to 50 yrds, fly the same as field points. Blood trails are good most deer gone down under 70 yrds.Still shoot 100 gr thunderheads on my xx75 2315 .
little tunny

I've been shooting Muzzy 3 blades for many years now and love them but hearing all the good reviews on the Rage broadheads I just might have to give them a try. I told myself that I would never shoot an expandable broadhead because of my KISS mentality but I just might be swayed enough to try them.:D

PS. It's just hard paying the same amount of money for 3 broadheads when I get 6 Muzzy's

I just got a new bow and am accurate at twenty and thirty yards, 3inch groups with field points. I just picked up muzzy mx-4 broad heads and it shoots like 5inches high. Is this normal? Also are there any fixed broadheads that fly true like your field points?

Anyone?? I just shot my mx-4's again today, and I am dead on at thirty yards with the field points but my broadheads are high and to the left about 8inches both ways

Hey Glenn,
Did you do any tuning with the bow? Paper tune? Walk back tune?
Do you know what and how the arrows are fletched? 4 inch vanes, 2 inch blazerr etc. straight, offset, helical etc?
My brother's bow shoots Muzzy Mx4's like darts while my bow doesn't shoot them nearly as well.
To shoot Thunderheads consistently I had to use 2 inch blazers with an offset. That didn't help with the Muzzys though.

I never did any tuning with the bow. What is a walk back tune? The arrows have 4 inch offset vanes. I dont want to get new arows or vanes. I read somewhere that I should adjust the rest up and down and it should bring the field points and broadheads closer together. Should I try a new type of broadhead?

Glenn,
I wouldn't do anything until you do some tuning. Google or search the net for "Paper Tuning" and also "Walk Back Tuning" and you will find articles on both that will not only explain it better than I could but also give you better step by step instructions.
I wouldn't change anything until you tune the bow.

Rage 2 blades are nasty. I hit this deer back far went about 100yrds. I was following pieces. They almost gut the deer for you.

Well I could not get the muzzies flying right so I went and bought some 2 blade rages. Tried out the practice tip and they fly excatly like my field points. I was wondering if the practice tip flys just like the real broadhead? Going out this saturday for a doe and going for a hog later in the year.

I shot thunderheads and muzzy for years. This year I switched to Rage 3-blade. Love them:luv:, shot a doe and a 7-pointer and neither one ran more than 75 yards. Both pass through shots with great blood trails. They fly straight. I know they are a little expensive but when I have tried to track a nice buck for 2 straight days I would have paid any amount of money to find it. Only draw back is that once I shoot a deer with the rage there are indents where the blades come back and I'm not sure if I want to reuse them. But they are so good I will just buy more.
