yeah I am hearing toms doing a little talking in the mornings nothing big just a half hearted gobble and am seeing a lot:eek: I mean some nice birds. seems to be good so far on the southern birds as far as the weather Jan and Feb can change all that though

i hate them stinkin' birds.
they are starting to flock up on these cold fronts.
can't hear nothing with 70 birds walking around, then roosting.

Was just talkin to some new clients about our spring gobbler season. They may try the half day hunt with some trout fishing for the evening. Its pretty popular, since we started doing it last year. I hope the birds cooperate a tad bit more than they did last year. Lots of good birds seen on our mountain. Hope that 11 inch long beard is still struttin around from last year. He gave me the slip, but the second time is a charm!!!!!!

Yup, can't wait for the gobbling to begin. Especially since I just bought a new shotgun TODAY at Cabelas! 1st new shotgun in, believe it or not, nearly 30 years!

I never hunted turkey. when I last hunted in the 70's there were no turkeys in south jersey. But I'm having such a good time deer hunting that I want to try it.
I saw a Youtube video of calling and want to learn to do that. Someone gave me an old Wet Box call made of wood but I can't get a decent sound.
What do you use?

I just got a bunch of nice Tommy turkeys on my trail cam and it got me itching a bit. I work long hours in the spring but am usually able to get one or two of em. Damn 9-5ers that hunt the adjacent farm started hunting them last year on top of deer and it screwed me all up so gotta make it quick this year. Good luck to everyone! Get to practicing them calls!
