I have a nikon. Use it for sighting in. When I get in my stands, I range landmarks so I know my boundaries. I have never tried to range a deer and make a shot. Too much movement.

I have a Bushnell yardage pro 800.I do not leave camp without it if I am guiding .Some of my hunters just can not gauge distance and it saves a lot of guessing .If I am hunting on my own I check out distances when I first get into my stand and put it up,but I do not go into the woods without one.

good info, they look interesting but i measure out an dmark off distances from the stand anyway so i dont know if it would benefit me, unless i started hunting different lands.

any recomendations on which range finder to buy, and is it worth the extra money to get the angle compensation that some units have.
I am looking at the Nikon riflehunter 550 and theNikon prostaff 550.
