I hunt in Bradford county. I know that the Game Comission is still relocating bears to Sullivan county and Bradford.

Other than that have not heard of a boom in the populations. I did manage to get one on the trail cam...

Really? We are overrun with bears at our place in Sullivan. You pretty much have a 50/50 shot of seeing a bear or a deer if you put some corn out back. Hell, we even got one with a snowball and one with an apple last year. :fight::D

I know my uncle has them up in bradford they have been coming into the deer feeders all summer. Theres a moma and two cubs that hes been seeing quite often. Moma's in the 300 hundy club!!;) Sulivan has more then Bradford though i think. my buddie in Dushore see's them all the time. Last year when i stoped by to check out his property their was fresh tracks in the snow that we followed for a good mile. But we never seen it.

One summer we 13 different bears coming to the feeder. One was a cinnamon phase. Every year we see at least 4 or 5 different ones. Only got one and had a close call two years later.

My friend and I heard it first hand from a Park Ranger at World's End that the Comission is reloacting them to the area because of the lower human populations...

But once they are relocated they almost always try and make it back to where they where before. They aren't going to stick around that area long.

Those are problem bears where the public filed a complaint and the Co's brings a trap out to the persons house and has to relocate it when captured.

I have video (VHS, though) of a bear eating my archery deer right off the game pole. It had a tag in each ear. This was in 1991.

If I'm not mistaken Lycoming Co. has the highest bear harvest in the state. I hunt Pike,Wayne,Monroe Counties for bear during the regular bear season. All of the land we hunt is all public. We do nothing but drives. We drive swamps from dusk till dawn. I've been hunting with this crew for 3 yrs. First year I started hunting with them we got 1 female 212lbs, 2nd yr got 2 males 249lbs & 191lbs, this past year we got 1 male 299lbs. And the saga will continue!!!!!

For the first time in my 60 years, I bought a bear permit and am going bear hunting.Don't know why. Have seen 2 bears in 60 years in the wild while deer hunting, one in Tioga, the other in Pike.
I feel like if I have scouted, am out in the woods, and am focused, my chances are good. Turn the adrenaline on.

The first bear was last years. Thats was 299lbs male live. the second set of pics are from 2 years ago. That bear was 219 female live. The batteries in my camera died and I just didn't go get more the year before. That year we got 2 191lbs male and a 249lbs male. Regreted not getting batteries now.

Just figured I'd get the blood pumping!!!

Called my neighbor upstate yesterday to see how buck season was going on our properties. He said two of his guests saw a large blond phase bear from their stands. Our place is in 4E so he has some time. what a trophy that would be.
