I just started using calls this year so I have nothing to report.

I have had much success with calls. I've gotten a response from calls more often than not. Just this past Monday afternoon I had my first response to a grunt snort wheeze. It was a really awsome sight of aggression. I first saw the buck from about 100yds away. It was a nice 9pt. I first grunted to him. The grunts where deep and long. After him only looking my direction I blew a snort wheeze. WOW did he react! First he tighted up his neck, then the ears pinned back, after this he started walking towards me with his head down. This was my first experience with such behavior. He walked within 30yds and started racking several large shrubs. After this show he started chasing does, grunting and snorting while chasing. Truly an awsome show.

I use them only to catch the attention of another deer within eyesight. If a buck looks like he's coming to me or is close enough to pin point me, I hush up. If he's going away, a couple grunts will turn them around.

Pre-rut, i rattle/ grunt. During or late rut, bleet/grunt. Killed bucks the last two years by calling.

I have used then - some times the deer respond other times they seem to ignor them.

I started using them years ago. I remember people laughing.
They work, I never leave an area without a grunt or bleat first. You would be surprised how many deer might come to see what is going on. Toss in a little rattle too.
