Who's heading into the "war zones" this saturday for the opening day of upland birds?? :D Our group of five will be heading to Bevans WMA to see what we can find.
Good luck to all and be careful out there :cool:

Good Luck. The crowds in the WMA's take all fun out of it for me. I try to hit them on off days.

I'll hit the Whittingham WMA but probably after those 7:30AM parking lot pheasant chasers are tuckered out and the crowds have thinned a bit. I'll pull up and the parking area will be littered with pheasant carcasses festooned in the multifloral, much to the non-hunting public's dismay. Great image we can project as hunters sometimes.
We need to be better ambassadors of our sport and heritage.

Its not that bad if you have 5 guys and "claim" spots. Nothing like being "rained" on from 100 yards or less...:D

Just got the scoop on the stocking for Friday nights game plan from a friend, Hint! Hint! I wouldn't bother going to Bevans on the Laurel Lake side... More birds this year will be released on the Shaws Mill side... Just a little helpful info:thup:

If anyone is interested, send me an email. I have the 11 th of this month open for a day of guided grouse hunting, over german shorthaired pointers. Forget the crowds chase the "Prince of the Uplands" without crowds, in North Eastern PA outside of Bloomsburg.

Steve-O the ShawsMill WMS is on the west side of Dividing Creek Road... You can go all the way down Ackley Road through Bevans east cross Dividing Creek Road and you continue until the blacktop begins... Stay on blacktop for roughly 2/10 of a mile and make a right into the WMA... Lots of birds over on that side, and less hunters!
Good luck to ya!:thup::thup:
