Fellas,

I'm up in arms about a scope for my 50 cal. T/C Omega. It's stainless with the laminate stock so of course I want a silver scope as well. I don't want the Nikon Omega scope b/c I don't ever plan on loading 150grains, no need in my area so it's not worth the expense. I'm not going to get something really expensive but I don't want a cheapo either. Let me know what you have and some opinions as well.
Thanks.

Nikon makes the exact scope as the omega with out the bdc recticle, I bounted one on my encore and love it. It is a little cheaper, but the same quality.

I don't know if the quality is still the same, but I bought a bushnell trophy series about 10 years ago for my slug gun and it has been great. It has held up well after many shots and plenty of abuse in NJ as well as in MT. No complaints.

I really like the Nikon Monarch, but it is really expensive.

I have Bushnell to Nikon ,but one you might look into is a Swift ,Not to many places carry them ,but they are in the $150.00 to $200.00 range and are as good as any Nikon or Leupold at twice the price. I have had them on rifle's and shotgun for years and no problems. The shop I go to has a 2 x7x32 for $152.00 .No limited warrenty, but a real lifetime warrenty.

I have the same gun only with thumbhole stock - I have a Leupold VX-3 2.5x8 on mine with Leupold quick release rings. I also have an Enocre and have the Nikon Monarch 2x7 on that one. I personally like the Monarchs better than the leupolds as to my eyes they are a little clearer and brighter and you can actually focus them to your eyes. The Leupolds only seem to focus the reticles and make that brighter but not the sight picture. As I get older (52 this month) my eyes get worse and this has become critical for me so I am really liking the Monarchs at the moment.

I too would stay away from the muzzleloader specific scopes as you mentioned - I have yet to hear anything that great about them and the standard scopes will work just fine

Thanks fellas, the Swift scopes really have me thinking.

My Omega has the thumbhole as well.... man it's an awesome gun to hold and shoot! I've never shot anything like it.

I got a T/C Omega with the Nikon Omega scope. I'm only shooting 120 grains. All you have to do is make each dot a different distance than what they tell you. It took me a couple hours of shooting to figure it out and get it sighted it but it was well worth it.
