I promised not to tell. My buddy is hunting him. It is on a farm but all the surrounding areas have hunters. I know this because I heard the gunfire during turkey season.
I hope he gets him.

I'm guessing that would be an easy NJ state record typical, right?

Could be a satilite buck. If this is the first time your seeing him than it's probably not his core territory area. He's crusing right now looking for does. When those bucks get that old and that big they really utilize their core territory. Only time they leave it is during the rut when looking for receptive does. Big old bucks are creature of strict habit. Sleep here, move here, eat here. Never out of order. Only during the rut does he get adventureus and leave his core area. Good luck in your quest for him. Best advice for ya. Stay in the stand all day. Put as much time in the woods as possible. He's probably be moving during mid day hours.

He's a great deer but by no means a NJ state record. Too many abnormal points with too many deductions on his typical frame. Now would I shoot him if given the chance I would have to say I would empty my quiver to get him. He's a great buck that anyone would be extremely proud of so good luck hunting him and be sure to post pics if you get him.

Nobody got him.
Tomorrow ends the season. The bucks up here dropped the last week of Dec, and first week of Jan. Funny - went to Aberdeen last weekend and saw two bucks with headgear on.
