Hey guys,
Just found the site and signed up right away! Early doe season starts in 2 weeks and it will prob be hot out still. My question is: how do you stay cool on your walk to your stand? When I am in my truck, I wear some light gym shorts and light t-shirt and crank the AC to full blast and put all the vents on me. I try to cool my body down as much as possible so that I don't sweat (thus creating more scent) on the walk on. I have thought about putting soaking wet clothes as well and then changing when I get to my treestand into my normal gear (scent-lok suit under ASAT leafy camo). Any tips for staying cool? Let me know. Thanks:thup:

I do the same with the AC, and dress lightly on the way to my stand, I also pack a couple of the first aid ice bags, there great to stay cool on stand.

i would think your body goes into overdrive when you get out of truck to keep cool soon as you started making your heart rate rise from sittin to walking you try to keep cool air conditioning makes you sweat faster when you leave it.i personally put my camo or whatever on or in my climber which is on my back and just really take my time (when not late lol) and really spray up with cover scent going in slow also makes you more quite. after i climb i sit for a few then put camo light shirt which also is sprayed heavy. still sweat a little thoughlol. then comes the skeeters buzz:D

Thin you are better off driving with the window open balancing you body temp. I wear ultralite gear has venting to release body heat used them for the first time in florida hunting use them hear and there know.

I drive with the windows open, I think using the AC will only make me sweat more when walking to my stand. Now when walking to my stand, first off make sure you have plenty of time & take your time getting there. I also wear under armor underwear for warm weather and that's all I wear under my scent-lok camo. And as everyone says, spray cover scent on really heavy! But the main thing is to really take your time getting to your stand.

Hunt smarter. This time of year you can get away with hunting a little closer to the roads and fields, etc. When the weather cools and the bucks start chasing, move in a little deeper. No need to set up in the living room now, set up in the dining room:cool:

Like someone already said the best way is to limit the distance you have to walk.

That's a tough one. I just read some guy uses the scent-removing wipes to cool off every now and then. Where I hunt, the archery opener could be 30 degrees or 70. Depends on the year.
