Thinking about picking up a new (Canada) goose call. I really want to get into a call that is more versitile so I can use all the different goose calls. I keep hearing Zinks, Foiliers, RNT, etc are the best compainies. Regardless I know that a lot of those compainies calls are around $75 plus, but if I'm going to get something quaility and it'll improve my hunting experience then so be it. I already have several short reed calls and a flute that I use. I think I want to get another short reed, but polycarbonate or achrilylic this time. Anybody have any suggestions on a great call?????

i really like my RNT calls. i have 10 or 12 of them, woods and acrylic.
plus chad seymore is pro staff for them. he is local and 3 time NJ state duck calling champ.
i just got a ZINK money maker that is really nice.
also am going to pick up a REDNECK CALL from ron in clayton. he makes some great calls that he stands behind and sound good. if have trouble with his calls he will custom tune for you.

Sean Mann...The Eastern Shorman is an awesome call as is His Express. They are easy to call and sound great.

you have to go to the counter and blow some to see what you like... and what fits your air and personal style..
I have owned short reeds from Giant Killer, Sean Mann, Foiles, RNT and blown many others.
I currently own a Giant Killer (LOUD high pitched) and a Sean Mann Sweet Talker (Loud, lower pitch).
If I was going to buy one right now it would be a Bay Country.
Captain Bones B&T in Smyrna Delaware has the best local selection. Cabelas has a good one too but Bones has more.

agreed capt bones is a great place and the guy that runs it is an awesome guy as well. bought a few calls from him including my tim grounds triple crown that i love. if you arent interested in spending that kind of money the tim grounds super mag is a great call as well for a few less $

Sean is good people at Capt Bones, although I can't remember the last time I actually saw him. But there's always someone there that can help you.

I really like the Tim Grounds short reed and a good fallback is a Kight and hale double cluck or magnum. Sean Mann call are tough to beat also. Another place to try some calls is Bass Pro in Arundel Mills Baltimore,MD.

i second that, ron's a good guy, that makes a good call.
we can't advertise here, but if you need contact numbers for a couple jersey locals, email me. i'm friendly with two custom call makers.
they will ask many questions to fit you with the right call.
both will let you try any call they have. once you found you type. you could have any wood or lamination you can think of.
and not as pricey as some of the mass produced calls that are not tuned to YOU.

 A the calls mentioned are good, but there all pretty exspensive. Try a winglock call. Cheap, easy to blow and great sounding

I went thru alot of calls last year, and settled on a shore thing
easiest to blow and sounds great.
all the others I had some issues with. it is expensive, but you get what you pay for.

a $40 custom, hand tuned, made to fit call isn't high.

Where is Capt Bones located? I'm from NJ. Is it a store with regular hours or do you have to call ahead? Thanks

It's a regular store, Captain Bones Bait and Tackle, on old Route 13 in Smyrna, just off route 1 south.

I have had several brands mentioned, but my Foiles Strait Meat is my favorite. If I can call them with it anyone can.Shooters on rt13 just down from New Castle airport used to carry a good supply of calls. The owner is friends with Tim Grounds and has most of his calls.

I have a heartland full bore. Not many people know of this call or use them. I bought it off the maker at the Harrisburg sportsman show last year. Tunes them himself. Very very nice calls, great if you can blow a short reed
