Well I just upgraded to a Carbon Express 3.5T , I assembled the unit and had it on tgt in three shots at 20 yds. It has a 200lb 15"draw and claims 350fps with a 20"bolt and 125 gr point!
I moved back to 35yds and did not see any drop what so ever,I set it up with 150gr excalibor bolt cutter broad heads and matching field points for sight in. I checked arrow flight with the broad heads and shot into a 10" thick monster bag at 35yds,the bag stopped the field points but it was very hard removeing them untill i greesed the ends with ramp wax. When I shot the broad heads they went clean thru the bag and a double bale of hay and landed 10' behind the tgt!
Im new to archery and was shocked with the cutting penetration of these bolts !
I have been in the stand three times so far and my camera shows movement between 12am and 505 am to dark to see anything. I have been very successfull with BP and shot gun but later in the season. I suspect ground wasps that invaded my apples caused the deer to go nocturnal. I removed the apples and went to beets and have plenty of activity but late at nite. Im hopeing that the change in temp may cause feeding at an hr that will allow a shot.
As for the bow Im very impressed with it's solid construction and life time repair policy, ease of assembly and function, and know it will get the job done if given the chance.
Any thoughts on Wasps causing nite feeding would be appriciated .Thank You: Mike:)
