I took yesterday off hoping it all was coming together.
I hunt in Bucks Co.
At 6:45 I heard something haulin about 10 yds in back of me, but still too dark could not see .
.
All was quiet for the next 30 minutes, I was beginning to think just not right yet.
I looked to my left and about 6o yds I see this buck walking like he owned the place. Not running, No nose to the ground just that Im looking for trouble walk.
He is walking toward me and I am hoping he comes in a lil closer .
He walks thru some bushes and I see he is not coming any closer nor is he stopping. I move ahead pick my best opening and give him a mouth grunt, which slows him enough. I let it fly. He takes off and I watch him drop after running 40 yards though uphill
I tried moving him myself but gave up after about 10 ft.
I tried calling for reinforcements but no luck so I went to my truck and got a deer cart. After finally loading him up I use the cart and start coming downhill. Of course all that weight I know have a runaway train, but not wanting anything to happen to rack LOL I hold on for all I can, so I kinda sit down and ride behind it :).
I was able to then get back up and move it some more and then my help arrive. They helped me get everything now back up hill to my truck and load it in, which was also an adventure considering my truck is fairly high.
Well all told a nice heavy 8 pointer not real huge he will score about 117 with a mess of character with curls in the tines
However the deer was a first for me in that he was weighed in (live weight) at 210.
I have pics but dont have the program to make them smaller.
