Yeah it's true. I've had them snap at me. They get a lil testy when a drop net just entangled them. When they're tangled you must very quickly hold them down so they don't hurt themselves or you. Then someone weaves through the net and puts a sock over their face. After this is done they calm down.

In SW Pa for a class wildlife trapping and handling techniques. We ear tagged and radio collared them. Also did this for turkey ,but with rocket nets. Electro fishing was my favorite.
