thought i would post some pics and steps of a new food plot i am working on. it is getting planted with high protien perrenial clover and apple trees for shade and an added food source. the location is excellent with woods on three sides and nursery plants on the other. stand is located on the southeast corner so the wind will be good 99% of the time. i always have the option to use a climber on the other side if need be. here is a list of steps that i have done so far.
1st mowed and sprayed using glyphosate
2nd waited a week and plowed
3rd rototilled to level out the soil and turn in the remaining dead grass
4th seeded using 200 lbs pelletized lime and 5 lbs treated clover seed.
(soil test was excellent i only used the lime to even out the spreading
of the seed.)

thanks guys. plot is mainly for next season but they will be there soon. hopefully the plot is big enough so that they dont eat it to the ground before it has a chance. when it starts to pop up i will line the outside with corn to try and keep them off of it. eventually im going to fence a small part of it to see how hard they are hitting the rest of it
