If that deer is as big as you say - I would be living in that tree stand for the next 2 weeks - go get him!!

well got a call this morning from a friend he saw the big buck hanging from a tree in someones front yard around a mile or so from my spot last night he said it was huge funny thing I saw a monster with a doe last night right up until dark could there be two monsters in the area?

I know there are big ones in SEPA but you have one heck of a hotspot there for big deer if you are killing those from the same spot.

I can attest that there are some monsters. I see a few from time to time that would go 150's or so but I just don't get the time I need to hunt them. Case in point- I say one that I would think would be minimum 150's to 160's on Friday. Unfortunately he was on neoghbors property and I was in the truck at 5pm on way to my stand and with car behind me I could not stop to look at him real good. Hunted that night and saw some deer and actually 5 doe came over from the farm he was on but he wasn't following them. As usual I only get to hunt this place in the evenings after work and with the time change it is difficult at best to get away early enough to hunt more than 1 or 2 times each week so my odds aren't that good to get him or even see him again.

2 years ago on another property I say 2 10 pointers that would go 150+ the week before the season - hunted all season and never saw them until about Feb 10th doing a drive by on way home and they are both standing together on the property I hunt 15 yards from one of my stands - go figure.

Good luck with your hunt.

I think we have all the right stuff here to start breaking pa records last year a 16 year old kid got a 200" buck during muzzel loader around 4 miles from me it made the daily local newspaper my biggest problem this year is other hunters going into the core areas and spooking the big boys I learned that out smarting big bucks is only half the battle but I cant complain:(

Unfortunatly, he also could have been jack-lighted. There are people that will do anything for a big deer. Sad but true.

I have seen 10 bucks chasing in the past two days. I was at work yesterday driving from one school to another and saw 4 buck on 1 doe. I made a right onto another rd and saw 3 on 1 a few hundred yards away. This morning I saw the same thing 3 bucks hounding 1 doe, on the other side of the township. This was in Montco. Pa. IT IS ON.......

mccool, When and where was that article about a 200"+ buck shot in SE PA by a 16yr old kid during the late flintlock season? I assume it's that season cause Pa only has another muzzleloader season and thats doe only. I know of and know the family whom their 14yr old shot the 176" in Tinicum last year during regular gun season. That was a awsome buck. I still don't think that kid knows quite how special that is.

Everyone knows the bucks upstate are small. Spikes and forks that only go 140lbs live weight. All they eat up there is woody browse and have 1,000,000 hunters shooting every deer in site. ;)

Which club you talking about?

I still need to fill a 3B doe tag and a bear tag. Oh yeah, I need a coyote too. I'll still be busy this year. ;)

You meeting Romano in Dushore this year at the Legion? I'm going to try and stop by their club and my old club but don't want to make a long ordeal out of it. We still have to do some work at the range on Sunday and it will probably be crowded. While shooting in a few of our rifles last Saturday, I had a primer cap dud. Needless to say, I ran out and bought brand new primers. Now I have to reprime all those cases, remeasure powder, load, etc.... and shoot a few out of each rifle. Or, I could take my chances with the old primers......

well I saw the buck I have been after tonight, he came as close as fifty yds he was with two does and two other bucks one busted up with only half an antler left the other around 120" eight pt the big buck is by far the biggest buck I ever seen I think he has a typical rack that would gross in the boon and crocket range even though I did not harvest this buck I feel pumped knowing that passing on two and three and a half year old bucks in an area that other hunters have access to and will shoot the younger bucks some how my dream came true because this buck is alive and so big he looked fake letting them go and grow is working in my area sorry for rambling on I just got in from hunting and had to tell someone:rolleyes:

According to the solunar chart, Thursday was calculated to be peak day of the month for deer activity. With that in mind, my cousin and I went spotting in Upper Deerfield. We got a few pictures of this nice 8 that was bedded down a few feet off of the road tending a doe.

He stayed right there with the doe for a good 5 minutes while we photographed him.

we saw quite a few more nice ones that night but there were no other photo-ops
