The next three or four days should be fantastic for turkey hunting--maybe the best we will have in the whole season.

The weather this Spring has been very unpredictable--rainy, cold, windy--but, for the next three days, high pressure will control our weather bringing cool nights and warm, sunny days.

It just doesn't get better than that!

Hens roost close to the toms now but after flydown they go off on their own, feeding and getting ready to nest. They've mostly been bred by now, and don't need or want to hang with the boys. Most mornings, the gobblers are either on their own or together in small bachelor groups.

Based on what I've seen during the last week, my bold prediction is that many, many eastern tom turkeys will be harvested in the next few days.

This weather is good for turkeys but also good for selling plants so I can't possibly go out.:(

It's going to be a great four days even in Kentucky! I hope I can close the deal soon (if the weather's working with me).

I agree Pete, had some birds going after the morning roost calling for meatonastick. Had 4 jakes at one spot and a big tom at the scond spot had them get to 40 yards at both spots but just couldn't close the deal. First time Meat was ever out so I think he had some excitement:thup:
Meat had to leave at 11:15 so on my way home saw a good tom went and set up and called a hen in followed by him but was running out of time, shot at 11:57 knocked him down he tried flying but fell again and ran down the edge of the field and I lost where he went when he went around the bend.

Have to shot my gun, not sure if the my scope get knocked off in my Friday car wreck:huh:

:bow:Pete I can't wait to get out tomorrow on our hunt ,what a rollercoaster ride since I meet you in Febuary at the Harrisburg show . We are headed up to beautiful Jim Thorpe in the early morning and hopefully I will get to knock down my first ever goobler. Even though I have hunted turkeys off and on for ten years I really think having had a chance to hang out with you and pick your brain has been a big help ,hopefully this time tomorrow my pictures will be all over this site, lets get er done:fight:

Hey sawbuck. I hope you and Pete have a great trip tomorrow and hope to see the outcome on film :). As much as he knows and as sweet as his calls are I'm sure you will have a successful hunt. Knock em dead. I have to agree this weather is going to be outstanding. I will be in muncy Pennsylvania Thursday and Friday trying to bag my first and maybe second Tom this year since I'm bringing my bonus tag with me. Good luck to all in the next few days. Go get em boys.
