Well at 33, my hunting clothes that I have worn since I was 12 seem to be shrinking and don't fit me that well anymore. If I remember correctly, when I was field dressing my buck last year, I created some emergency ventilation in the seat! :D
I have a gift card and some points stocked up and plan to head out to cabelas for some new outerwear. Having not researched or shopped for hunting clothes in a long time, I have no idea of what is out there, what is good, what to avoid and what to consider.
Looking for suggestions on some type of parka and bibs. I want good stuff and I have basically an open wallet as I know that I will have these for the next 20 years, and I don't want junk!

Oh, step into my office. We need to talk. I just got all new gear. Stop over and see it. Put it this way I already told the old lady I want to be buried in it.
I got the *NEW* Scent blocker Dream Season Pro gear. The best on the market right now and yes it will last. A lil $$, but completly awsome. I really can't think of to many ways to improve it. Some say "oh that carbon gear isen't worth the money" I say it just depends on how serious you really are into hunting. I also got a blacks whitetail pack. Oh oh oh sweet.
Most of the cabelas brand name is ok. Scent blocker is great. Scent lok is good. Mad dog is ok (cheaper material). Under-armor is great. Also check out under-armor's new outter wear. Polar tech wear is great. Depends on what your looking for, but Harters is good. Berbear is very good quaility gear (very wear). Columbia is great stuff. I like to look for things with removeable liners. A lot of the good parkas have liner systems to them. Dude check out the new Cabelas sales flyer. Their are some decient deals on clothing. If you want company to hamburg let me know I'll help ya out.
P.S. Ruger found one cock bird this afternoon. Little SOB (the bird) ran into a hedge row. Never was able to get a decent shot at him, wouldn't flush. A decient amount of guys around. Never heard one shot the hole time was there.

4 IN 1 s! You can't go wrong with a good 4in1 parka set up. You will get good use out it. With the unpredictability of the big woods in Pa, a 4in1 is the ticket. Wear the outer with thermals for those "warm" days or when your primary hunting tactic is walking, and really layer up for the super cold days. I'm not a fan of hoods but sometimes you need one, so I always look for a removable one. Make sure it has enough pockets for your needs, I like the chest handwarmer pockets, gotta have them. And make sure you get a quiet material. Buttons and magnets are quieter than zippers and velcro for the securing pockets. I'm not real brand loyal these days, but I'd buy the best you can afford as good gear is money well spent.

Lucky - I am definately thinking along those lines. And you are absolutely right about hunting upstate. I've had opening days at 40+ degrees and also days at 0. Anything specific that you can recommend, in addition to ACE's post above?

BigBuck, I don't really have anything specific for you. I just absolutely must have a stand up collar that's soft on the inside and the cozy handwarmer pockets without rough zippers that scuff up my wrists. I was at Cabela's recently and looked at a nice setup for my buddy who just moved up from warmer climates. It was Cabela's brand and somewhere around $180 with a soft fleece inner. Good luck at Cabela's as there is almost too much of a selection.
King of the Mountain, tigh wool, stand-up collar, Parka, Bibs, shirts, and jackest. This gear IS NOT CHEAP. It IS serious money. But, it's warm, user friendly. Check the web. There is a dealer near Paoli, Pa., private professional guy. I got he Parka and bibs.
