Its whats going on right now Bam, they are henned up hard. Alot of people are saying the same thing. The only thing I would say is stay til 1200 most of the time the hens go to nest and then the toms go cruising. Also if you see the hens leading toms around it worth a chance to change your mind set from calling the tom and try to call to the hens. Purrs and clucks, if that dont work just try to piss her off and challenge her, there is boss hens too, just like dominate gobblers. I allways try to soft stuff first. Good luck bud youll get that bird just keep at it.

only thing you can do there is get in front and wait them out, or talk to the hens and get them to get pissy at ya. if they come the toms come.
tomorrow I am calling hens. and aggressive to LOL yesterday I went easy and could not seal the deal for a young ladies first bird was 50 yards out in thick and the hen took him away after a hour of wasted time and effort going easy. should of done what I do best piss them off LOL
some guys say going hard makes them leave and it can but I would rather spend time looking for birds willing than wasting 2 hours on birds that are never.
If the hen talks to ya come right back at her with the same sound.

Bam that's nature for you!! By nature the tom will gobble and the hen is supposed to go to him. You are trying to reverse nature. My favorite situation is the one you had!! This is what u got to do..... (I expect u are with your dad or somebody, if not get somebody else to call)
Ur dad or another caller......Decoys........You....Turkey
:thup:............................................ :razz::razz:....................:D................ ...:eek:
Put about 30-50 yards between all of you and when that big Tom holds up next time he will be in your lap!! It works but u have to be quiet!!! Big gobblers actually have a certain gobble that "yells" at the hen for not coming. The last 2 weeks are my favorite cause the Tom wants girls so much he will run into you. I called one from 300 yards and killed him at 5 yards! Good luck

Sometimes they just don't commit especially when hens are involved. Try a spot where hens like to go off the roost maybe. Out your time in and it will happen for you.

I was out this Am, could see the birds, but they were just feeding along, no interest in Gobbling or calls...........I think the cloudy weather puts a bit of a damper on them.
