Turkey hunting contest

Robhunt is running the contest and I'm helping out. Rob thanks much for starting and running it! :thup:
The proposed rules are as follows:
1) teams of 2 or 3 depending on how many sign up
2) either photo of NJ check in sheet or actual photos detailing weight, spur length and beard length
3) 1 bird per person to be fair to our PA friends, but can be upgraded 1 time. Would not be fair to those that could only hunt Saturday or those that are only allowed one bird to enter more than one.
4) Doesn't matter what state it comes from, to be fair to our De, Md, Pa and other state hunting friends
5) Use the NTWF scoring system
6) same score no matter what weapon to keep it simple
7) Must sign up 2 days before start of season

Rob and I will see if we can get some sponsor to donate something little for the winning team and maybe some certificates, just something little.

Thanks Tom and thanks for helping. Looking forward to a nice year of fishing and baseball. I did not get a permit this year but will go out with a few friends and do some calling.

Agreed Rob, we put that in rule #2, PA and other states you do not have to check in so that is why they will need to get photos of beard, spurs and weight.

Ridge there is only one contest but we started this thread trying to tell to sign up on contest sign up, it seemed there was some confusion and some thought contest sign up was for calling contest. Sorry for the confusion, we got you, good luck!

Ah yes, the double club, how sweet it is. Dom, I had a blast the day we doubled, it was a hoot for sure. That big old Tom strutting in with all those hens under the roost and you couldn't get the clear shot so I just sat. I'll never forget you looking at me and saying," You could see him and didn't shoot?" Then we laughed and turned and walked to the top of the hill and here they come around the field. A quick sit and a couple of your lonely girly calls and those boys were coming right to us. :wave: Oh and brother Brian has a few also with me including, but not limited too, the double in fall season up at the lake when we were getting run over by about 40 hens all at once. LOL!!! All I can say is, "BOOM,BOOM,BOOM!!!" :eek::eek: :razz: oH I CAN'T WAIT TO LET THOSE FEATHERS FLY. :fight:

Hey Robhunt, I got an idea for a tie breaker. If 2 of the birds are shot as a double, the team could get an extra point in case of tie breaker or something like that. This is considering we are going with at least 2 man teams. Might be even easier with 3 man teams to get a couple of doubles in the competition. On the Jersey side we got a lot more birds and I have had many times when 2 big boys come in together and both hunters walk away happy. :wave::D:D Those boys on the other side of the bridges will have to work a lot harder to get a nice double with a partner.

Remember tonight is last day to sign up:thup: Right now it looks like my son hunter will only be in the youth division because he will only be able to go youth day due to grades and school trouble. There are 36 signed up, 12 teams.
Youth appear to be to teams, 3 youths per team. Their contest will run the whole season not just youth day unless a majority wants it to only be youth day.
