What does everyone wear when hunting in the cold weather? I always find a problem with winter clothing being to bulky. Does anyone have any secrets or clothing they like to wear to keep warm but also keeping the bulk and layers to a minimum?

I like to start off with a base layer of under armor. Then, a loose thermal, possibly some polyproplien. I will usually hike in wearing only a layer or two. Then when I get into my stand I will bundle up. It helps with not sweating to much when you get to the stand then freezing when you cool off.

What ace said and if it's really cold put a hand warmer on your chest and upper back. Or go to a drug store( wallmart or target to) and get a back/neck heat wrap and they can last for 10 hours I think.
Hope this helps. I wear alot of under armour. They also have alot of camo cloths. A bit pricey but deffinitaly worth it.

You get what you pay for.

Also if you bow hunt (not necessarily crossbow hunting) they make a sleeve to go over your cloths so the string does not hit your cloths and deflect your arrow.

If it's REALLY cold, toss some corn in the yard, stay indoors, crack the window a smige, then wait. When they show up for dinner, BOOM! :D

whitetail extreme gortex MTO 50 bibs and jacket. All you need is jeans , t-shirt and the jacket and bibs. Rubber boots with toe warmers and your hands can keep warm in the jacket or bibs. I hunted in MD, truck said 18 degrees with a 10-15 knot breeze from north. Never cold for a second, best stuff on te market. About 500.00 for both but worth every penny. And 100% waterproof.

I bought a wool windstoper jacket, and bib from cabelas, and i just got back from canada it was cold, 3 degrees in morn, 12 in afternoon, and i was going to put my parka over this, and i didnt need to, i wore insulated muck boots, with heavy wool socks, hands i loaded my pockets with warmers and thin pair of gloves so i could feel the trigger, was warm all day, sorry forgot to mention i shot a nice wolf, then a nice deer, with a muzzleloader

A mistake some hunters make they dress to tight you need a little space between your clouths . If you feel bulky take somthing off till you get to your spot .As long as you can shot your not to bulky .Like it was said earlyer to much on going out and you'll sweat and get cold a deer don't care if you look like a giant oreange big bird like I usualy do and I ground hunt and sit all day and have deer walk close to me all the time . when some do see me they some times fall over laughing at this 300lb pumkin sitting there snoring . the thump of them hitting the ground wakes me up and I get my easy shot.:D works all the time

I'm going to be ordering one of the full body suits you slide into off cabelas once january's over, they go on a CRAZY CHEAP sale, a buddy of mine has them, and he stays so warm its crazy.

I would like to try that but Somers Point police would object and there aren't many deer here. I moved close to the fish. Wish I still lived out in EHT now.

Cabela's Whitetail .You will not have to shop again. You may out grow it.
You can pack all the cloths into your stand that you want, but, if you can't hunt with them on you wasted your time.
