saw a few toms in the last 5 days with heads getting red. in the heavy rain yesterday when checking some sets they was every where. one group the hens ran one direction and the toms the other then realize the women went that way and there they went giving me a glance as they went by LOL

I have seen a few to but why do there heads change over the winter. I saw them deer hunting and they were not red. Is it there hormones?

they're starting to get fired up for the mating season. its basicly a blood rush to the head. they turn blue/white when they are really fired up

Hey there mr daddy redneck all the gobblers look the same right now. It is coming soon right when the birds have spring break up . Turkeys will start to breed soon . Then it will seem like every ridge has a bright red heaD THE WARMER WEATHER HELPS TOO.

As the urges to breed start to flow so does the blood because the turkey has so many blood vessels in the head area the color changes. thank you bc

our groups r breaking up alot i was out the other day had 3 strutting n 4 hens payin no attention

same here I am seeing some big groups look like they are getting smaller. The toms are strutting in and out. getting close if the weather stay mild we will see things getting ready in a few weeks. if it stays cold things will slow up.

Saw strut marks in the road today. Saw 1 huge group of 50 birds today, 7 birds and group of 4 toms all with red heads. I am getting pumped.
