I would inform both the local C.O. but i would also call the local pd. If it was private property I would start to look at who is riding a quad in there and start to have them cited as well as have them checked for the head, It is Ilegal in nj to take the head of a dear or any body part that is not legaly harvested by a gun or bow under legal conditions. it is ilegal to behead a road kill, you can get a road kill tag for themeat but the horns are allowed to be possesed. You have some recourse use it wisely .

Same thing happened to me on opening day last year. I found the deer 2 days later with his rack cut off!!
Funny thing was that he ended up 50 yards away from my stand. He must have doubled back and ran behind the stand. There was almost no blood to track. I still wonder who the scum bag is that took that beautiful rack of mine.
I hope you find the guy who took it.....

That B.S. does on up here also. Guys shoot them at night and cut the heads off. I think the also do it with 410 slugs. Its great when a hiker finds them, there have been propertys shut down for this. If its not yours or its or you don't get it leagaly where ore the braging rights and whats the point? If a guy had to feed his family thats one thing but he is not de heading them. That stuff makes us look bad. Poeple that hate hunters pile us all togeather and there is plenty of them here. Enough of my rant.

That does suck. I'll have to admit, I've found previous years deer that have been pretty well picked clean and took the skull and horns. I guess it's not the same though. Shoulder hits are the worst:mad:. Those deer can run for miles and sometimes will even recover. I even once new a guy that shot a nice wide 6pt and never found it. The next year I was tracking a deer and found his deer's skelleton along with my deer along the trail. After loading the deer I give this guy a call and told him I was coming over with a present:). Gave him his horns and he said,"well that's him". He was very gratefull to say the least:)

Was this near your listed location of Mullica Hill? I might have heard something that can help you, but don't know how to send a private message here.
