I just have a question with New jersey allowing crossbows next year where can I buy one. I see in Cabelas catalogs that they will not ship crossbows to NJ. Will this change or not.

why cabelas dicks sporting good sell really nice crossbows also

Any idea why Cabelas will not ship to NJ? Maybe because their illegal to hunt with at this time? Their not illegal to purchase.

I purchaesed one directly from Excalubar and they did ship to NJ. Excalubar is a recurve crossbow and shoots very well, less parts to foul up. Check them out on line

They are going to open a Cabelas in N. Jersey. I don't know when or if it's even open yet, but they are going to. I guess they're really giving BassPro a run for their money.

Like many here in Jersey, I'm considering a crossbow. After a quick peek at Bass Pro's selection, I'm suffering from sticker shock. Name rifles don't cost that much [same for many compounds in their line-up].

I need observations/recommendations:
1. Weight of pull - 125 / 150 /175?
2. Ease of loading?
3. Bolt speed?
4. How is the trigger - [best accuracy componant]
5. Recurve or compound?
6. Sighting system? [open / scope / reflex / what]
7. Any experiences you have [current permit holders]
