since they asked if i wanted some overtime, i thought i better shoot the first 2 1/2 year old i see. well snuck into my stand at 4:15pm saw him at 4:25pm, shot him at 4:27pm.
i saw antlers rubbing a sapling before i saw the body. then he made his move up the trail, wind in his favor. he was 30 yards dead down wind and cruising for does. he worked right to me, but quartering towards me. at 20 yards he changes directions, now broadside. i draw but can't get a clear shot, get down on one knee, get down on both knees, still at full draw. i check to make sure the lower limb doesn't hit anything. line up the keller, touch the trigger. perfect pass through. i can see the arrow on the ground. he runs 30 yards then stops to look back. he falls within 5 seconds of the shot.
4:30pm lowering bow down on the rope.

broken main beam and brow, but exactly what i was looking for.
i tied the deer to the back of the truck, drove it out into the field and dressed it. had another buck pushing two does out into the field as me and the truck are out there.
not the best pictures, had to us the girls bucket to hold up the head.
this buck goes 130lbs.

"makes no scents" scent free soap comes through again. buck was down wind the whole time.
