Got a chance to go out tonight. Went to a spot I always at least see deer.Climbed up into stand and every thing was just right .Around 5 I started hearing kids voices behind me.About 200yds behind me was about ten new houses that were not there last year .I have shot that way over the years because in the past it was a steep hill side .Now it's full of homes and with all the leaves on the trees I could not see the houses without looking hard through the trees .I had to ride around after I left my stand to really see the layout .I will move my stand a little down the hill just to get away from the kids playing.Anybody else run into this?

I've had this happen to me several times. I really hate this. I've got stands that are now someones back yard. We used to hunt a pond on a farm for waterfowl. Well, now the pond is ppls backyards. Its getting rediculous. I really don't blame the farmers, but I'm watching my town and home area just get eaten up. I already told the ol lady It's either North, or Northwest. Take your pick. I can't take the sprawl and the idiots anymore. If I get funny looks at a gas station cause I'm wearing camo or orange. I just spent 4 yrs in SW Pa. Let me tell you nobody ever said anything or looked at you funny. I dunno maybe it's me, but I feel like an outsider now at my own home.

I'm going north . Behind my land in Maine there is 300,000 acres of nothing and if you go 40 miles west there is an area you can put Delaware in without a house in it.All the hunting and fishing you want.

Look on the bright side. Does this mean the housing crisis is over?

Where are you at in Maine? I've hunted Dover FoxCroft for 12 years now... Big bucks and lots of bear, not to mention the 10-15 coyotes in a pack...
