Took the muzzel loader out tonight. I have already taken two does for the freezer. One with the muzzel loader and one withthe shotgun. So I am now trying to put some antlers on the wall. So around 4:00 three does came in. One of each size. After the two smaller ones got their full at the sweet potatoe pile, they walked toward my tree stand and laid down. They laid there for about twenty minutes before the big does finally left and they left with her. They were close enough to my 15' ladderstand that I could have spit on them. WAY COOL.In thirty years of deer hunting never had this happen before. Thought I would pass this on.

I had similar happen last year. I went out turkey hunting for fall birds after work 1 afternoon and wham. There I sat with a gun full of bird shot and a nice 10 pointer with a whole bunch of does wander up within 50 yards and bed right in front of me. Now immagine sitting on the ground in front of a big tree with does about 20 yards in front of you and this big rack at 45-50 yards and all you can do is watch them chew their cude for an hour. Finnally the does got up and walked out to the field and the big boy followed. It was a day I'll remember for the rest of my life. Way cool when those critters interact so close to you and they don't even know you are there. P.S. I did get my bird that night also. As the deer moved out to the field in came the birds to roost.

About 10 years ago "late Muzzleoader season" a Front was coming in and I spotted a nice Buck coming out of a large thicket of Cat Briar a few times earlier in the season. I setup my Portable on the edge of the CatBriar with the wind in my face at 1pm in a large tree. I was afraid to go too high and take the chance of him seeing me put the stand up! I felt he was close. I put the stand up arms length from a standing position, Just high enough to see moevement over the Cat Briar. I wasnt in the tree more then 30 minutes and a Large doe with 2 Fawns slowly worked there way toward me eating the Cat Briar, I actually turned facing the tree to avoid eye contact . She ended up standing Directly under the platform and I kept peeking down to see her head between my feet thru the stand platform!. Her head was no more then 3 feet from the platform of the stand. She was curious and looked up but never spooked. She was a mature doe for sure which really made the event even more amazing. They eventually wandered off. The entire encounter happened while light snow fell on us. I did spot the Buck later that afternoon sneaking out of the Catbriar away from me. Never crossed paths with him Again. Regardless It was a Day to remember!

Love these stories !!! That`s what makes it special. A kill is awesome but some of the stuff we see you can`t make up.
I had a squirrel barking at me as the sun came up about 4 tree`s over, he didn`t like my arse in his tree.
Well he made to much noise ....A huge hawk came crashing through the canopy and took mister noise y away in his talon`s.
I watched him fly away with his breakfast as the limb rats tail went limp.
Scared the living S- outta me!:D
