View Full Version : Opening day of South Zone Report with Pix!!

Was at our spot by 6:15 and had a little bit to wait until the action began. We had ducks flying like crazy at first light and it lasted about 45 minutes. We had lots of shooting and were able to bag 8 total. 5 woodies and 3 green wind teal. Just like i had hoped, the teal decoyed perfectly and we got our first at this spot. Another great opening day of early season south zone!

Nice Job. I was out with 2 buddies Sat. also and we had our limit of woodies and teal within an hour.

Wow, thats crazy shooting! Shooting these speedsters is like nothing else. Nice job! :thup:

Nice pics, we could only manage 7 teal. Lots of birds but not cooperating.

Went this morning, lots of high flyers..... nice and bright out:thdown:...Got one lonely drake mallard

Nice job, better than none. Did the cold seem to affect things yet?

Nice job Steve,I hunted solo this morning.Saw 12 Ducks and limited out.They decoyed good.2 GW Teal 1 Hen Ringbill and 3 Drake Mallards not a bad start to the week.HRL:thup:

It seems the cold"er" weather is starting to stir things up.... Saw lots and lots of mallards in the morning but the blue sky and sun kept them up in the air... A few more weeks.... when it opens back up in the middle of November, it should be considerably better :thup:

You guys had a great first day and managed those woodies pretty good. Nice harvest man! I can't wait for canadian goose to open up again, Woolwich is swamped with'em. Every night the skies are filled with them.

Yep, i bet! We don't have too many down where we duck hunt cause we have next to no fields.

Saw three mallards.... all out of range and didnt even think about comin in... Heard some shots behind us aways... come on colder weather and the migration:thup:
