Hi All,

I recently moved to Central NJ and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on public land in the area that is open to deer/turkey hunting. I checked the state site but found it a little vague. I'm not looking to move in on anyone's spot, but desperately want to get back to the woods. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Bill

Yeah, no one seems to know where Plainsboro is. We're close to Princeton, Edison, Lawrenceville, Trenton.

I used to hunt Wharton as a kid. It's a bit of a hike now. Thanks.

you might wanna consider heading west of you as well, hunterdon co. has a few state parks that offer public hunting grounds. the fish and wildlife digest lists all the public lands in each zone

Definitely check out Hunterdon Cty. I worked up in the area last hunting season and the biggest buck that i've ever seen in daylight was up on Rt 31 near Ringoes, nj. I think the hunting up there is better, but quite a hike for me. Or i would be up there.

I drive 523 a lot up there and there are some nice deer out and about. A big 10 pointer was standing in the road a few weeks back. Just looked at me, jumped up the hill, and walked the corn that was still standing. Ver nice!
