I want to use some of my favorite guns that have "fixed chokes" for goose hunting...I have been using my SBE with steel, but like many others (I suspect) I have guns in the safe that have been sitting idle, and want to use. The question is other than Bismuth or Kent Tungsten, what other shells can I use w/o damaging my older barrels. (I see hevi-shot, and others advertised, but it doesnt say whether they are safe for older barrels) Can anyone give some insight please?

You are probably not going to get any read definitive answers to this one. The ammo makers are reluctant to tell you that nothing will happen because if anything does, then they are responsible. And the gun makers are going to tell you lead only because they have reams of data to support them should anything go wrong.
For my 2¢, I would try some of the non-steel alternatives in your older shotguns. If they are sitting in the safe doing nothing, and they could return to duty with some of this newer technology ammo, then get them out and try them. You'll never know unless you try and they aren't doing you any good sitting in your safe anyway.
