Tagged a buck tonight.

Shot my Pa buck for the year this evening. Again a decent buck but not what I was hoping for. I have come to the conclusion that I am a terrible trophy hunter, as I like launching arrows to much. I will post some pics later or email em to someone who can I am beat. Dragging sux:D. The deer was shot at 12 yds, bad hit with good results. he went 45 yds and piled up. I saw at least 12 does as well tonight. I saw a mom with triplet buttonheads, pretty cool. Good night but kinda sad its over.

I know the sad feeling too. Going to hunting camp for rifle season is a tradition. My wife even thinks it's 6 days becasue we leave the Friday after Thanksgiving and stay through Wednesday :D If I was to take a buck during Bow season, I think she may catch on.

thats why i won't bow hunt pa, one and done sucks.
here it's 6-7 bucks and unlimited does for 4 1/2 months. when i tell the people of tioga that, they think we shouldn't have any deer left.

Congratulations - any buck with a bow is a good trophy. Awfully hard to pass on a buck in PA. Our heritage of having to shoot the first buck we see as it might be our last is hard to overcome. Things are getting better so it should get easier. If you are hunting in the spec. reg areas you can use those doe tags to overcome your need to flign arrows.

Doesn't work for everyone but it works for me - I like hunting bucks too much to shoot one too early unless it is special. I don't care much for shooting does myself outside of 1 or 2 for the season so I feel that once the buck tag is full - I am pretty much dis-interested- so to keep me interested and hunting I pass allot of bucks and shoot them on video instead.

The tag is filled out. I cut it into the ear before it went to the butcher. Report card was sent. I should have detached it from the license but it was filled out.

Believe it or not he was 2 1/2. Huge chest and neck but thin assend. Long teeth with little wear.

Hey archer..You do need private land in jersey..Last year black powder I took a 140 from the state woods. If you come to jersey remember Keep left pass right..
