Just wondering what was the bow that you used to kill your first deer with. Mine was PSE Spirit, equipt with a flipper rest and a Cobra sight.. Killed two deer that year with that bow. 220 feet per sec. with Ultralight Easton arrows and 100 grain broadheads.

i took my first deer with a PSE Polaris set at 57lbs. it had the double round wheels and the steel cable with lead ends. i had a TM rest and a cobra pin sight. i had a solid brass stabilizer on it, that and the cast white metal riser made it feel like 40lbs of bow.
i hunted with a bear the first year. i saw a deer opening day, then nothing for the entire season and permit season. but still went every day i could.

Jennings Buckmaster. Little doe on a corn pile. Might as well been a ten pointer:). Hooked for life. It's cool to think back at the way you evolve as a hunter. Kill anything, kill everything, kill mature does, kill bucks, kill a buck bigger than last year, Just being happy to have a little time in the woods:thup:. What's next?? Watching your son or daughter kill his first with his "first" bow. It never ends:cool:

My first bow to take a nice 4 pointer in Parksville NY was a Golden Eagle with TM 2 prong and Cobra sight shooting Easton xx78 out of a overdraw bow from the ground not 25 yards out with my dad sitting right next to me . My first hunting bow was a Bear "Black Bear" all conventional , I was 12 yrs. old and I received that for graduation gift . Shot that bow till I was able buy myself my next bow the Golden Eagle , I was 19.

I was 13. Jennings Micron. We were able to tweak it to 41lbs. I got a doe @ 25 yds. The arrow never made it through. I hit her and she ran the stopped with the aroow in her. I called my dad over and we waited. The blood trail was very poor. We basicaly started following ruffled up leaves. I found her about 80 yds from where I shot her. I was using the ol 2113 camo hunters with a 85g thunderhead. This was my first deer. My first buck was taken with a 30-30.

MIne was a PSE Gamesport Pulsar, the same one I will be using this afternoon and tomorrow. Got it in like 87 from Sportsman center in NJ. 1st buck was a large spike right in the back of the neck, dropped like rock.

I have used my same browning bow that I purchased when I was a kid in the eighties. I have killed a lot a deer with it and just banged out a six pointer last night. Have always considered getting a new one, but sometimes its that comfort and reliability you hate to give up on with "Ole Trusty."

Mine was the old wooden handle Browning Legend, Center flipper, 72 lbs., Gamegetter 2317's. Missed seven deer that year and finally contacted with a small doe.
By looking at some of these first bows we have a lot of younger hunters on here.

Howatt Custom Bushmaster longbow 60# @ 28" , a one point spike
Lots of PSE fans here.
Mine was a PSE Fire Flight. I used it for 10 years and was thinking about trying to find a new string for it just to see how it shoots today.

Started bowhunting in 1994. Killed a little doe on opening day around 10am. Hooked for life. PSE, easton alum arrows, muzzy's. I'm still using muzzy's, but switched to easton carbon's and a Mathews in 2003.
