I heard it passed but the fantastic Gov still needs to sign it...it was actually in The Daily Journal Newspaper one day this week.

If it is up to the governer, it will probably require another permit, a toll increase, a large donation to the unoins & your first born. LOL!

No Sunday hunting has always been a sore spot with me. If a guy works a standard Mon-Fri 9-5 job, his hunting days are Sat-Sun, and only one of them is a legal day to hunt. It doesn't make sense. Over in Pa we can hunt coyotes and crows on Sunday but really? I just don't get the logic behind it. Is Sunday a day of rest? Can your state gov't who clings to seperation of church and state use that as their defense? Anyway I hope you Jersey guys get to hunt Sundays.

Heard something that Senator Sweeney may run for Governor and he is the one sponsoring these bills. But like you guys said another permit, toll road increase, and buck stub for Sunday hunts. There is always a reason for their madness and they see $$$$$ signs here.......:shoot:

I pray that it doesn't go through. For a couple of reasons.
1. It is a day that I can bait my property early and be done
2. And most important it is one day of the week that I don't have to worry about some idiot sneaking onto my property and trying to shoot my deer.

Around most places i'm sure, those idiots don't mind if they aren't legal to begin with. They sneak on regardless of what day it is or would be...

I guess I have a soft spot for the 9-5 Mon to Fri guys cause I'd like to see this pass for them. I've been blessed to find a job that I enjoy that also allows me to hunt or fish on a very regular basis. For the last 6 or 7 years I've worked a 6:00am to 3:00pm or thereabouts schedule that allows me to hunt almost any afternoon I want.

A lot of guys spend a good amount of money on gear, licenses and permits yet can only hunt one day a week.

I do realize that Sunday being an off day is good for a number of reasons.

Guys

I called Kean's office today for status on Sundays and the 50 yard Safety Zone.

The safety zone is about to have it's 'second reading' and may pass soon.

Sunday bow has not had it's 'first reading' yet and they may not get it before the new legislature comes in.

Cup half-full / half-empty?

The Sunday hunting Bill and reduction of the safety zone Bill have both passed out of committee in the Senate. They need to be posted now for a full Senate vote.

The safety zone Bill passed out of committee in the Assembly, and needs to be posted for a full Assembly vote. The Sunday hunting Bill has not been passed out of committee in the Assembly.

After both Bills are passed (assuming they are) by the Senate and Assembly, the Governor still has to sign them.

Long way to go, but progress is being made.

Would be nice for guys that work M-F, but I still believe there should still be a day of rest.
