Has anyone ever had trouble with the rubber tube sliding off the peep site when you draw your bow? After about 17 years of using a peep site on my bow, I've just started having this trouble last year. I tried scuffing up the plastic post on the peep that the tube slides on to but that wasn't 100%. I got the bow out last night to QC everything. Drew it back a few times and it popped off once. Luckily, the peep was aligned without it but will it always align that way without help from the tube? What do you do? Thanks.

you might need to lengthen the tube also when you reinstall the tube you should only lube it with spit or water so it will evaporate with out leaving any oils or lubricant

Thanks. I slid it on with no lubricants at all. Perhaps the rubber is stretched out and that half inch section needs to be trimmed off?

the rubber does dry out you should replace it every year bar none

trimming is a quick fix but if its not new you should replace it now before season comes in

getting slapped in the eye while drawing back on a deer only adds pain to a bad situation

I was thinking about the Krazy Glue but thought it would be tough getting the tube off when it came time to replace it.

On the new one try a little notch like a barb cut into the shaft with a razor blade

I use to have that problem all the time! So, I did away with the peep sight completely!
Tom Miranda has a new sight out that you don't need a peep. It's called the Hindsite. Here's a link to it: http://www.hindsightco.com/mirandastory.html
This sight is fantastic! After I got it sighted in my grouping got so tight that I had to shoot at differant spots on the block so I would stop ruining my arrows! They were so close that they would rip the vanes off! It does take a long time to get it sighted in so I wouldn't go with it this year.

But if you go with it next year let me know what you think of it?

As for fixing the peep, you just have to put on a new peep & hose. Or just try a new hose & see if that works.

 Try getting away with a peep attached to a rubber tube and just use a peep tied directly to your string. In the long run you will be much happier. No dried out or broken rubber tube and you wont have to worry any longer about snaging the tube on every piece of brush when walking trough the woods. If you are going to do something try doing it the right way!

I think the only way that will work is if you use a Tru-Nok. here is the link for it. But you'll have to line the peep & the nok first!

I had the same problem a few years back and decided to change my bowstring to a Zebra Barracuda. This string does not twist so there is no need for the tubing. Best thing i ever did for my bow. No more need for a tube.

I fixed the problem. I got a new tube that is slightly longer. I also put some sticky wax on the post and the tube stays put. ;) She's shooting like a dream now. :)

Sweet looking site. How long did it take you to site in?

Once I got it on & setup correctly it only took about an hour to sight in. It's worth the time it takes to sight it in! All together it probably takes a total of 2 hours to get it on & sighted in!
But when you buy one it comes with a instructional dvd to help you along!

Scott,
If your talking about the site made by T. Miranda it runs about $120.
