Hey guys... I have private property and I am building a wooden blind elevated in a tree... Was wondering if anybody on here has done this.... I am more so looking to see what people did to camouflage their blind.... I have seen camo fabrics that they sell for blinds but most are pretty pricey! I am sure most just spray painted them in a camo color of some sort! Just wanted to pick some peoples brains.... I normally bowhunt in a traditional stand but wanna take the son (5 year old) and nephew (10 yr old) out for shotgun and hope this gets them excited about deer hunting... Thanks alot!

i did one with a black plastic pallet. put 2 pressure treated 4x4s through the pallet and put it between two trees. very sturdy and was a piece of cake. i have more of the plastic pallets if that interests you. they hold over a ton

just match the tree cut branches and screw them on.if you do it now they will wilt perfect timing as leaves change.just break up the outline.also old christmas tree branches from artificial trees work good if your in a pine or evergreen.:)

Thats sounds good...We are almost done...we are totally enclosing it with 3/4" pressure treated plywood....we are leaving a 3-4" gap opening with a 360 degree view so the kiddo's can slide the shotgun out for a shot! Hey (Grt) thanks also.... I was already going to try to find old artificial christmas tree branches also!

You can get camo fabric from walmart pretty cheap. I just bought the leafy camo fabric. It was around $15.00 and the piece was 4' x 15' I think. I use them to enclose my ladder stands.

the suggestion by grtwhthunter/fisherman is a good one. I was given an artificial Christmas tree that a friend was throwing out. I used some camo paint to 'dull' the finish a little...and then used the branches to hide the stand.

They make a great and adjustable coverup. I dont think the deer really know a pine from an oak, so it really wont matter, they just provide good cover.

And the are free.

And you are recycling.

It proves that hunters are conservationists.
