Does anyone breed shorthairs?

I am looking to buy a gsp for hunting and family pet. Was looking for a local breeder. I dont really want to travel far. I am in no rush so if anyone knows of anyone in the south jersey area who is planning any litters please let me know thanks.

Check the German Shorthair Post in late Sept, you'll see my dog's blood line and a few picks of her. The male she's breeding with is a white/liver spot. She's all black. We're breeding her after the bird season. Probably breed her in January. You won't find better blood lines then her's for the money. I also start dogs for bird hunting.

I spent many months researching before I bought my last GSP. I think its really important to do your research. My dog came from West Wind Kennels in Delaware (15 min from W. Witman Bridge). I forget the owners name, but he is more of trainer and handler but has some very good looking GSPs. Not sure if there are any pups available. My dog is an excellent hunter at 2 yrs of age. He was trained by me and is an even better family dog than our Golden Retriever. You can google the kennel name for the number there.

I hunt at Game Creek in woodstown. I met a handler there named Donald who has Gunny a GSP. That dog was amazing. Very calm and controllable with an excellent nose and point. Took commands very well. I asked him about his breeder. He picked up the dog from a breeder in Woodbury. I can't remember the name of the breeder.

I picked up my GSP from the same breeder 2 years ago. At 2 years old she points, hunts, and retrieves like she's been a pro for years. Great disposition.

Fair warning though GSP's have a good deal of energy and can make a difficult in-house pet if you don't get the right one.

I actually just put a deposit on a dog from a breeder in alloway. She said she hunts her dogs at game greek. The add for the puppies is on puppyfinder.com just put in gsp in newjersey she has two listings one for males and one for females. I put down the first deposit so I have pick of the litter. I cant wait.
