As i read the law in the new digest it says you still need to have the encroachment of the 150 in writing and in person while hunting , what did the bill actually change . as i read it it doesnt change anything that the 450 didnt do , you could hunt within 450 if you had signed permission , the new bill says the same thing .

I read the digest and i think they are wrong when i went to the state lagislature page and read the actual bill it just changes 450 to 150 , so we should now be able to hunt 151ft from a building .

Guys,

The rule allows us to hunt with in 150ft of an occupied building without written notice from what I understand. Unless it is in a schoold zone. That other piece just states if you are currently huntin 150ft away with written permission...nothing changes for you...has nothing to do with the law just a statement being made.

The ruling is now 150 feet from an occupiable building. You have always needed permission to hunt private property. Now you still need permission to hunt that private property, but if you hunt state land that borders private and you want to hunt or shoot inside of the 150 foot area, that you need written permission for. But if you are 151 ft from the barn and on state land, you are good, just don't shoot into the safety zone without permission.

Good to know. Just wish I could hunt from inside the barn though.

There is one point of the law that most people are overlooking. You must be elevated so as to cast your arrow in a "downward angle". There is some langauge in the statement that says this can be accomplished by being elevated by the slope of the terrain.
