How often do most of you get out hunting in a week. I try for two days at the least. I have been out 6 times this year since the openng of Doe in 5C. I have seen quite a few only one within 40 yards, which i missed at 35. I need to get a little more motivated and get more days in the woods. I have had a lot of doe action on my scouting camera but have yet to get a buck on it. I know there are some bucks around but having trouble finding where they move, there is at least 2 8's, one of which that is probably 4 or 5 years old, and a young 6. I have one rub by my tree stand but haven't seen any others yet. Hopefully as the rut gets going I will start to see the bucks moving.

Yeah give it another two weeks and you'll see a great improvement. We just need that temp to stay low. I try to get out as much as I can. I've been out 5 times since the openner of the archery antlerless. I've only seen 1 buck (a spiker). Two of my five outting went without a sighting. This season is starting off very slow for me. That only leaves one thing in mind. It will only get better. I find that the later the season the more I pursue. Although, you must becareful when being in the woods a lot. Don't sit the same tree day in and day out. Your going to burn out that spot. Laying down too much scent in one place will only hurt you. I have some of my most favorite stands that I will not hunt till the last three weeks. One, it's to thick and I can't see anyway. Second, it is such a high traffic area for big buck I don't want them having any second thoughts about comming through there. I will usually hunt a stand then leave it alone for about 2 days then hunt it again. I move for stand to stand after each outting.

I can usually get out for a few hours in the morning and a few in the late afternoon on Saturdays. I have two little kids and can't leave the wife single-handed all day every weekend. Or else, it's this: :argue: :D

I have a wife who stays home all day with my 2 daughters (3yr , 1 1/2yr) I hunt every night when I get off work. I come home get a shower and out the door.I hunt all day saturday, and maintain my spots and rearrange on sunday. I do this from sept. thru feb. I go to Ill. for 1 1/2 weeks during Halloween. I am in New York for Thanksgiving week. I will probably go to Ohio for a couple of weekends this year.Between deer season turkey season and fishing on my boat I am basically never home. Don't get me wrong I love my wife and kids but three woman in the house will drive you insane. This is the way I was before I got married and had kids and I am standing my ground. If they try this:naughty: I will have to give them one of these:fight:lol.

I get out twice a week now. I work saturdays until 2pm then it's straight to the woods. Sunday and Monday are my days off, and since you can't hunt Sunday in Pa, Monday is my big day. If I can drag my carcass out of bed early enough when conditions are right, I can squeeze in some morning hunts before work. Then there are all the "sick" days which I save for hunting and fishing. Of course this is nowhere near enough!
