Got to my stand today at 3:30pm. As soon as I got to my tree, 3 deer walked right up to me. I took a nice easy shot at a monster doe 20 yards away on a hill side and missed again. (doe Fever).

Got up my stand and shot that arrow that I missed the deer with at a leaf 20yards away. "It was dead on"

Right after that, from 4Pm till dark I had deer come in to my bait from every angle, I had young bucks fighting below me and other bucks grunting and chasing does.

Did not shoot at any other deer but Man the "Pre Rut" Is on.

Sounds good off shore that gives me some encouragement to go out tonight and sit for awhile. Haven't seen anything in the last 3 sits. Good north wind for me tonight hope I see something.

Steveo little early for that in my opinion...its the lil guys that dont know better messing around..Big boy is laying back and waiting until it's time, not wasting energy....I dont use deer scents at all..had bad times with it...ive tried all different kinds and ways too....but using it now will educate the deer after you leave in the dark and may mess up your next visit when they smell it again...Good luck if you use it and let us know how it works...Every woods is different...I seem to have the toughest and spookiest deer herd in NJ......

That makes me feel better about the doe I missed as 35 yards last saturday!

Very true Quinton, every woods is different and most are pressured differently unfortionately. I figured its worth a try, at the spot i'm headed to this afternoon, no body has bow hunted it in a few years.

My 12 year old son and I were in a crude ground blind Thursday evening. I cleared a little pocket in the brush in a treeline and we sat on 5 gallon buckets. I cleared a little opening for him to get a shot from where I thought the deer would exit the woods. 2 doe came out of the woods and presented easy shots but we are now only hunting for buck because he already killed 3 doe this year with the X-bow. Anyway we hear deer running from the other direction and I heard a grunt and a really nice 8 point was chasing a doe. He was a nice buck and his neck was swollen. Problem was my son couldn't get a shot threw the brush. The buck was as close as 15 yards. He was harassing the one doe and chased her out of sight. There are some nice bucks with love on their mind already. It was an exciting hunt and my son's first encounter with a big buck. We were both a little shaky.
