got in at 4:20, saw the first deer at 4:30, buck pushing does.
group came in a 5:30, right to me. doe then two fawns and a 6pt.
she stopped at 3 yards broadside. hit tight behind the shoulder and out the brisket. took one lung and centered the heart. she ran 35 yards then piled up. first luminock deer, but only saw it for 30 feet. it turned off when the deer jumped off the arrow.
she's boned out and in the fridge already.

it became aparent that i shot mom when the bleeting started.
one stayed with her, the other came back to the scene of the crime and smelled the arrow.
a hunter always has remorse for what they do.
but i got over it when the tender loins went in the fridge in a marinated.:D

its a button buck?!?!?!?
in the first picture you can also see the milk sack and nipples.
and she went 115lbs, no button will weight that much this early.
at 3 yards a nonhunter would of seen buttons.
i try and let the buttons go. i do take one by mistake every once in a while, late season when they are as tall as a 1 1/2 year old doe. that snow makes them look big.:D

Yeah ... a doe. The nipples being visible in 2 of 3 pictures are a pretty clear indicator? No?!?!

dontbothermeIwontbotheryo ( funny that your second post does otherwise lol )
My post was a joke with ub1243 in reference to another discussion going on elsewhere on the board. He and I both know my post was poking fun.
Infact, here is my quote from the other thread:
Last night ... saw a button that came through bleating, he was getting a pass on that alone but he was also pulling at my heart strings a bit since he was probably bleating hoping for mom to respond. This is the same spot my brother shot his doe so I'm pretty sure mom is in my freezer :)
Saw another deer move through some thick stuff at 50 yards, couldn't tell what it was. Right at 700 as I was getting ready to pack up I heard a deer snorting up wind of me, must have seen me moving.
That was it.
So another mom is in my freezer. So, dontbothermeiwontbotheryo

I just wanted to point out that humanization with phrases like mom dad etc don't really apply to the animal kingdom and secondly and more importantly there are a lot of antis who lurk and use these type of inflamatory statements against hunters and hunting:bow:PHILCVG

harmbringer,
It isn't funny that you keep losing that post. It is because that post is about as useful as a screen door on a submarine. You've made about 6 post and none of them have really been worth reading. Every single post has condemned or bashed someone or something.
And you also admitted to stealing tree stands if you see them ...
Don't threaten me. I don't care what you do for a living or how you will make my life in the woods. You and I both know what you said in that Crossbow thread about early season deer stands that you can see ...

dont be a douchebag. i was stating my opinoin in the threads. i didnt know stating a comment on hunter ethnics was condemining some one Phil. my opinion is its no wonder that people cant stand hunter when the do something like that. They teach hunters in education course they shouldnt do stuff like that. its like driving around with a deer on the hood of thier car.. also i never stole no stand i was replying to a smart a$$. grow up

I'll leave this one up so everyone can see I'm not talking to myself.
Our forum is for discussion and that is what we hope to have. But we need the discussions to be constructive. Your tone isn't what we are looking for. Calling people names and bashing folks methods of doing things. It is especially uncalled for when what the folks are doing is 100% legal.
Your telling me to grow up? Yet you are in another thread threatening to steal deer stands that are visible in the early season. You were replying to someone but you still said what you said about those early season deer stands, did you not? If you don't remember, I'll repost it for you?
Ok, I will anyways!

SM I referencing the UBNJ survey not the state survey but as most ppl. in this state you make your mind up with only half the info & maybe 35% of that is correct.
BTW I'm for hunters...All of them.
& I shoot a coumpound.
Good luck this season.
Dude ill call you a name your an idiot.. How long you been hunting 2 days? unless you hunt private property the little state land that we have as hunters are so overpopulated now.. Where are you during gun season my friend? because when I gun hunt where ever I am I see nothing but a sea of orange.. Now we are going to have every "lazy a#*" who dont want to pick up a bow and put in the time like some of has for years and years pick up a crosbow and think they are going out for a second gun season. we have way too many idiots out there during that season in the first place. There is a big difference between a bow and arrow and crossbow. that is called skill which you dont need with a crossbow.. it is point and shoot which any idiot can do including you. I tell you what going to happen it wont last a year cause some idiot is going to shoot someone else or themselves. Or some idiot is going to put a bolt in someones house or real bowhunter are going to get so fed up that they are going to stop going and revenues from bow hunting will go down and driving if this state was smart enough they would pass a law taking the license of anybody caught driving a deer during crossbow. as far as the so called UBNJ survey goes that hold little water..
"BTW most stands are stolen during the early season..Hmmmmm who are the guys doing the most scouting then."......yup put your stand where I can see it...ill steal that b*tch from u.. the way you whine and talk it sounds like you dont even use it but I will

You guys are missing a number of post from harmbringer. I was following him around deleting them for quite some awhile last night. Probably about 6 or 7 total and everyone of them was negative in some way and most of them bashed someone.
I would edit/delete a post and he would put it back up. As you can see below he tried to edit what he said about stealing stands but little did he know we have the top of the line technology here at the Buckbarn and editing a post doesn't mean I can't see what was said originally
On a good note, he won't be bothering us any longer. :naughty:
So, back on topic, how did those loins taste UB?
ub1243
10-14-2008, 07:49 PM
how did those loins taste UB?
they were great. they sat in a marinade for four days, a rasberry vinagrette and apple juice. not sure how it was cooked, i think just baked. i had a loin, roasted potatoes, and wax beans waiting for me when i got home from hunting.
sometimes mariage agrees with me:D
when my wife asked if i saw anything, i told her i passed on half a dozen deer. as usual i got the "why don't you just shoot one, why waste your time sitting and watching?"
i just put 22-1lbs packages of ground meat in the freezer along with more loins and straps, never enough. we really don't buy much red meat. i try and take 5-7 deer a year for us, and try for a PR deer every other year.
why shoot mom? cause she makes for some good tacos, meatloaf, sloppy does, meat balls, hamburger helper, ect............
good night harmbringer.

that in itself says volumes.
when you get out of the concrete jungle and are asked to manage a farm, let me know how it goes for you. let me know how your farmer feels about letting does walk because they have fawns following. let me know how he feels about letting her eat another couple acres of soy beans, costing him money every year, and having another set of twins. a "buckhunter" would know you have to take does out to have a 50/50 ratio, and a better overall herd. bleeding heart deer hunters don't last on managed private pieces, cause your not managing if the does aren't hitting the ground. the one buck you hope to get every year does nothing for the farm that has 30-40 deer on it, eating 2 tons of crops and browse every year, per deer.

I hear ya! Had some tacos the other night ... they were awesome. The girl that lives below me that doesn't really care for red meat even came up and tried it and said she liked it.
I have a set of hams that are now minute steaks to pick up Thursday morning, it is a good thing to because I used my last pack up over the weekend.

Ub after 4 days of marinateing how over powering is the marinade?
I've done 24hrs but to be honestI hav'nt had a gamey deer since I can't remember.
Back in the day of let'um hang I remember a few but now they are in a cooler within hours.
ub1243
10-14-2008, 09:23 PM
i left them in that long because they didn't hang. and with apple juice, it's not strong.
i like to hang a deer for a week if i can. but our weather doesn't allow it most of the time. i just skin it, bone it, and put the meat in the fridge for five days, plastic wrap on the meat to keep dry out loss down.
gamey deer
if a deer is boned and fat removed, there is no such thing as gamey. they will vary in flavor, region to region, but never gamey.
and i try and keep my hoist empty after november 15th, opening day of trapping season. i like to skin critters outside if i can. if they are frozen i let them drop bugs for a day then skin in the basement.

njhunter,
I'm unsure how someone would going about taking your name. I would dig deeper into it though since this person also knows what you do for a living! I have two guesses as to what it is you do for a living and I'm sure making threats such as the one "harmbringer" made wouldn't be taken lightly. I doubt what was said about early season deer stands would be appreciated either.
One thing I will say is I bet it is someone real close to you at work. Or maybe someone you went to school with because whoever it is that stole your handle, that "harmbringer" uses periods and structures sentences exactly like you do.

I mean what are the odds of the person who stole your handle using two periods and/or lower case letters the majority of the time? Just as you do? Or capitalizing my name but leaving a lot of your i's lower case? And if you read what is written above to yourself, they even sound very much the same, like they were written by the same person!

Ok I didnt really see it. I dont know what you are trying to get at. All I know is i havent posted a reply or anything since i joined here a couple days ago Phil. I apoloigize for it even though I didnt do it not trying to be a jerkoff but you can take it or not there is only so much a person can say. I dont know what the odds are but if I wasnt concerned I wouldnt have wrote anything back at all. Its a forum not the lottery. I was concerned because I like reading the information from your site and maybe sometime responding. I didnt want to lose that. I have been a member of bass barn for as long as its been around and not once had a problem what so ever with anyone. But anyway Thanks for the site.
