wearing a license on the back in a tee shirt sucks. with all the permits, permission slips, and tax maps, it pulls too much. too me, this isn't failure to display.
to be honest, i haven't had a license on my back in 6 years. i carry a backpack most times. i have it on that. if i had the license on my back while covering it with a backpack, now that is failure to display.

the license will stay on the gun. sometimes in the heat, i don't wear anything but flip flops, shorts and a orange hat. there is no shirt involved. same with fishing, but minus the hat. i put the license on the pants.


All hunters
and trappers must openly display their license and
any applicable deer, turkey or bear permit in the
middle of the back on their outer clothing and
must show their license to any law enforcement
officer or any person requesting to see it.

this is what the law says in nj. it is very clear.
i would pay the $25 or what ever the fines is, instead of wearing 1/2lb of paperwork on my tee shirt.
