I enjoy heading north to go rifle hunting with my DAD:D. So during the bow season I am very hard pressed to shoot a buck unless it is a big boy.:D. I am one of the lucky ones who got a huge 8, 3 years ago while hunting with my Dad. I hunt bow in Exton pa-and chadsford-pa. Opening day i was at the chadsfor location and had a herd of deer come up to my stand about 5:45. In that herd was the biggest deer I would ever get a chance to shoot.:D:D H e hung around those does for 15 minutes until he gave me a shot. 20 to 25 yards at the most he turned broadside. I let that arrow fly. I did everything right. I was not nervous I was cool:D. I hit him in the right spot just behind the shoulder. The arrow did not go through.. I did not start to look for him until about 7:00pm in which it was dark. We pulled out. Did not sleep at all. Went back 6:30am and started to look. NO BLOOD AT ALL:(. We looked all over we took 1 break about 2:00 pm. NO BUCK. Went home to get something to eat grabbed my 4 year old son and went back. Nothing. Took the day off from work and hunted monday morning 2 hours in the stand and went looking again. Sorry to say no deer. The only bright point is that I still have my buck tag. I guess I should of taken a picture instead of shooting him. Atleast I would have the picture.

that is horrible but do not feel bad. you did everything in your power to find that animal. if you just gave up after the next day it would have been bad. i ope you dont put yourself down for finding that buck. you cant help if that arow passes throw.

It happens sometimes. The one I shot Saturday had no blood trail, I just got lucky.

Sorry to hear that man. At least you tried. It will happen to every hunter sometime in their hunting career.

Hey Daedeye I'm a West Chester student living up here and looking for some hunting spots next year. I know that Chadds Ford is a couple of minutes away, you mind staying in contact till next season?????
