Just found out that the bill (S802) for hunting 450ft to 150ft. passed by 6-0 out of committe. Bill (S976) to bowhunt on Sunday's passed 5-1. Now it has to be passed by the Legislaters and then Corzine has to sign it to be law. Hope it dosen't die like some of the other bills needed for us hunters. It would be great to hunt both days in the weekend.

Look on NJ Hunter and they are all talking about it.

I'll believe it when i see it.... They will make your buy a sunday hunting permit and a hunt 150ft to a house permit, $28.00 each....Oh and if you want to kill a buck on a sunday thats another $28.00.....

Your so right and there is a reason to this one so they can make more money for Johnny boy to help his toll road plan. You'll have to have lots of permits just to hunt on Sunday's and QuintonZ29 hit it right on the head. Can't wait to see how this law turns out.

I would love to see it happen as would all of us , but as always there must be another motive like the tolls . It already cost so must to hunt in this state as a resident couldn't see them adding more . Amazing how they want the herd reduced , but impose so many rules as far as permits and still don't allow Sunday hunting . Already Emailed MS. Jackson on this topic and refered me to someone in Toms River ?????

Hope we won't get the run around like always. Seems to easy for them to vote on Sunday hunting. After all it is the sabbath day and I'm surpised that they voted on it. I hope it does pass all the way so we can enjoy our sport what's left of it. Thanks for the list that we have to get ahold of so this will pass.

i've said it on other forums.
no sunday hunting.
i'm not religous, and i'm a ubnj life member.
ubnj fights hard for us bowhunters, but i won't back them on this fight.
public, private, doesn't matter.
i hope it stalls again.

This is the most awsome country in the world. With more freedoms than any I know of.With that being said it should our right to hunt on a sunday if we wish ,if dont want to then dont ! But we should have the option. If you can do any thing else on private property and WMA's (purchased soley by sportsmans dollars) we should be able to hunt there on sunday as we paid for it. if you cant hunt there on sunday then you shouldnt be able to fish or ride your horses or birdwatch or bike there . Not allowing some one the choice is wrong ,Not that my opinion is better or worse than anyones it is just that my opinion.

i believe the non hunting public should be able to have a day without hunters in the woods, and yes it should be a weekend day.
i believe the animals should have a day of rest, or no two legged predators.
i believe some private lands will not allow hunting if there is no day of rest.
i believe some seasons may be shorter, overall because of the sunday hunting. i'd rather have a longer season with less days.
these are a few of the reasons I feel strongly against sunday hunting.

i'm glad UBNJ is fighting so hard for bowhunters.
i just don't back them in this fight.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

my opinion.

i will not back this and i hope it stalls.

On WMA's and private property???

state wide.

Quote:
There is no day of rest for animals. They are prey. They are hunted by predators 24/7.

two legged hunters.

Quote:
Private land owners can regulate any day they want to not allow hunting.

the place i can control won't have sunday hunting if it passes anyway.

Quote:
This has not happened in any of the 40+ states that allow Sunday hunting.

most of those states always had sunday hunting. nj could say they will treat it like a waterfoul season and have X amount of days total. if it's 6 hunting days or 7 days. now we could have breaks in bow season again. they finally give use pretty much a straight season, it could change again to open and close.
i will get trashed for the way i feel, but thats how i feel. sorry for those who disagree, but not all disagree.
