I recently talked to someone who told me they plant chufa plots specificaly for turkeys. THey have had good success hunting these plots. Whats the difference between throwing out corn or planting a plot? Same thing in my opinion. Curious to hear others opinions!

Well if you live or hunt in NJ then, I guess planting a food plot is the better choice then right?...haha. Not considered baiting and I can plant whatever I want for deer:razz: Deer like Chufa too.

..On NJF&G website, it states you can not be within 300 feet of a bait while hunting turkeys. ( rule #14).
But theres nothing illegal about planting a food plot or field which creates better habitat for other critters as well. It just takes a lot more time and hassel to do so.
In my opinion, i rather shoot one that i called in to me..rather then have one come to my pile of corn or plot.

I totally agree w/ tenpoint and hunt4l. It's all about hunting, not just killing, blasting or whacking.
