Opening Day Success!

Got a nice dominant Tom on opening day after having a lenghth "conversation" with the two hens he was with. They were very upset and vocal about another hen trying to call away their big boy. They answered every call I threw out there and came close to see my decoy. The Tom was in tow and he took a load of 5 shot at just over 40 yards!

Nice bird with a 10 1/2 inch beard and just over 25 pounds (but soaking wet so probably a little lighter). Spurs were 1 1/4 inches.

Very nice bird. I shot at 1 today but must have been farther than I thought as the #4 load never even upset him.:eek: It looked only 40-50 yrds. but must have been more.
