Any recurve or longbow shooters on the barn like myself? I shoot my old Bear recurve takedown with no sights. Kind of like the challenge of instinctive shooting

I can't believe it! I'm the only recurve and longbow guy on the Barn.

I think I'm the only person in NJ that hunts with a recurve! I'm shooting a 50# Quinn stallion and I have a custom longbow on the way. I love the light weight of trad bows, and enjoy shooting them much more than compounds. Do you hunt from a stand? I only hunt from the ground, its tough hunting in a tree with a 62" recurve. Thinking about getting a Bear SuperMag for the treestand...my cousin who got me into "stick & string" archery lives in Lansdale he does a lot of stalking in and around Evansburg with a longbow.

I haven't shot a recurve since I got my first compound in 1982. It was a Bear but I'm not sure the model. It was a 45lb draw weight. I still remember those days when I couldn't find the bow stringer and trying to string that sucker up manually so I could shoot. :D

I shoot both Compound and Recurve, But I find myself leaning more towards Traditional, I also like the challenge, I shoot a 47# Wing Archery Red Wing Hunter

I shoot a long bow. I used it last year all season. Man its hard to shoot out of a tree because it hits everything and hurts my target line. I have more fun with that then my compound. I've done some 3-d shoots with it but the range on the targets make it relly hard.

My First Compound was the Bear White Tail Hunter

Mine, too. Or was it the Whitetail Hunter II? I still have it. What was the range, 40-60lbs. You adjusted by moving the pulley wheels. I never got a deer with that bow. First deer dropped to a Jennings Unistar.

My First Bow Kill Was with The Jenning Shooting Star! The Igot A Uni Star
Still Have Uni! I use that one when I go Carp And Succer Shooting! Great Bow!

The Uni-Star shot well but it was heavy as a freight train. My Mathews feels like a nerf bow compared to that old Jennings.
