CVA is good buy for the money...I have the Kodiak Pro. Thompson Center is a great gun, shoots extremely well, and the workmanship is much better then the CVA but you pay for it...I love my T/C Encore and that is the gun I hunt with the most. Both .50 calibers...I shoot 150 grain of pyrodex and 250 grain shock wave bullet with excellent results.

when you say muzzle loader do you mean flint lock or in line big difference in the two .I personaly love to hunt flint lock bigger challenge more skill lots more fun . the t/c is the only way to go and if you find a t/c fire storm its the only one that will say that you can use pirodex pellets .Also very accuret .:p

To me it comes down to what you have to spend just getting into it.T/C'S Encore and Omega's are great, but costly.Cva's always shoot pretty good and are usually do not cost as much .I have each had some of each, but the one the surprized me was the Traditions.I out shot the others brands with it.You should find some goods prices this time of year. Some shops might deal instead of sitting on them all spring and summer..Good luck.

Thanks!Have you bought a gun yet?The gun shop I deal with has a few guns left over and said he would be willing to drop the prices a little to move them. He's in Pa .I do not know if that would be a problem for you.Call him at 610-869-8322 at Bobs Gun Shop.
