Plan on trying for a long beard in PA with my X-Bow. Just wonder if anyone knows which type of bolt would work best? Field point or broadhead?

thats a good one, I'd like to know my self I would think a broad head or one that opens a few feet from the bow  if they have one that does that. If so I'm in if not broad head I think.

I thought there were broadheads specifically for turkey hunts? I'll poke around...

Just poked around a bit and the popular picks for turkey broadheads seem to be these:
Steel Force Talon
Hammerheads
The Bullhead
the guillotine 100 grain 2.5 inch (intended for head shots)
Slick Trick with an Adder behind
Rage 2
Muzzy 3 or 4

But the only one above that I saw that specifically got positive reviews for the xgun was the guillotine 100 grain 2.5 inch.

Anyone have some knowledge about how some of the above braodheads will perform on a turkey using a xgun?

I've heard that the problem with the types of broad heads are that the foot sterop on an X/BOW can interfear with the broad head because they site behind the foot of the sterop and can hit when fired .My barnnet penatrator and the predatore are a little resesed for more broad head room to pass maybe they can work but most others donn't have the space . as you asked maybe some one can give more information, I for one would love to use the giulatein saw it used on t.v. and its deadly hope we can get more info from an other barner

Hate to say it but a Rage will do the trick. BTW I shoot spits.

Talked with Horton today and they said that their 100 grain, 3 bladed broadhead is OK to use for turkey. I have them so that's what I'll be trying.

You Pennsylvania guys have it good. Jersey has excluded the X-bow for 'the big birds'.
